India – Day 6

Not a great night of sleep. I could tell last night that I was coming down with a cold. Sure enough, I woke up feeling sick. Hopefully it will not get any worse.

Praying for God’s protection today. We are in a Communist state. The local Hindus are causing many problems for the Christians here. Every time the church tries to meet publicly the Hindus cause a disturbance. They do not like people converting to Christianity. Over the next few days we will be visiting local villages to preach the gospel. God goes with us so we do not fear man. Trying to rely on his strength.

We began our day by visiting a man who fell out of a tree and was paralyzed from the waist down. They have spent all their money on medical bills. We prayed for him and shared Christ with him. He lives in a community that is very resistant to Christianity. The local preacher is working very hard in that community but so far no one has come to Christ. Another preacher I met has been working with about 250 families in mountain villages. In five years of ministry among these families, two people have come to Christ. It is much harder here than it is in Ooty. Satan seems to have a stronghold on these people.

We traveled a lot today. Once again, I witnessed beautiful scenery. We saw elephants!

I don’t have much to write today. We did get to spend some quality time with local ministers who are attempting to bring people to Christ in a very difficult place. I pray that God continues to give them strength and perseverance.
